Fort Hays State University Joins CampusLogic Family

Wendy Rohleder-Sook, J.D., Director of Financial Assistance at Fort Hays State University, couldn’t possibly speak more highly of her Financial Assistance Office team. “We have an awesome, dedicated staff,” she explains. “We work together to provide a great student experience while ensuring we are in compliance with the multitude of laws and regulations related to Title IV federal financial aid.”

Forward Thinking. World Ready.

Founded in 1902, FHSU’s enrollment tops 14,500, boasting 4,000 students from 30 nations and approximately 10,500 domestically. Roughly 70 percent of its domestic students rely on federal financial aid. Committed to accountability to its students, their parents, and the citizens of the State of Kansas, FHSU is also committed to increased efficiency. Check out their Moving Forward Booklet for more on FHSU. Student-centric and maximizing efficiencies, CampusLogic aligns with both of these ongoing goals.

Student-Focused, Affordable, Growing

“The number of FAFSAs we process has more than doubled in the last decade, yet we continue to offer a personal student experience,” Rohleder-Sook says. “We understand that the financial aid process can be complicated, especially for those going through it for the first time.”

That influx in FAFSA’s makes sense: FHSU is among the fastest-growing post-secondary institutions in the nation, with a 22 percent enrollment growth over the last five years. According to a U.S. News and World Report ranking released in fall of 2014, FHSU had the second-lowest tuition and fees in the country for in-state students.

Prioritizing People, Not Paper

CampusLogic’s platform enables Rohleder-Sook’s staff to further prioritize individual counseling to students and families. “We constantly evaluate our processes with an eye to how we can improve the experience for our students,” explains the busy DFA. “Our decision to implement CampusLogic’s StudentForms is an excellent example of our commitment to the student experience.”

The Music of Awesome

Easy, mobile, personalized #FinAid is music to our ears at CampusLogic. We asked Rohleder-Sook for the song makes her staff feel #awesome—and we asked them that question in late August… the lead up to possibly their crazy-busiest time ever. After much discussion, they selected Tubthumping by Chumbawamba. “You know that line, ‘I get knocked down, but I get up again… you’re never gonna keep me down!” Check out our full Music of Awesome playlist. We think Victor E. Tiger, FHSU’s mascot, would approve.
