Morehouse College: Two alumni on 2016 Forbes 30 Under 30

Two Morehouse College men have cause to celebrate: they made the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. Congrats to Marcus Noel ’08 and Jason Crain ’09!

The Morehouse Mindset

Morehouse College is a private, historically black, liberal arts college for men. A release from Morehouse University, a CampusLogic customer, notes that “Marcus and Crain exemplify tenets of the Morehouse Mindset through education reform and vital innovations.” The Morehouse Mindset are enduring qualities that include demonstrate acuity, practice integrity, exhibit agency, commit to brotherhood and strive to lead consequential lives.

Meet Marcus Noel: Education

This month, the founder of Heart of Man clothing was named to the 30 Under 30 and was a panel expert at the White House’s “Celebrating Historically Black Colleges and Universities” event. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg for this impressive ConnectED fellow and Tedx speaker. “Nothing will ever stop me from creating the best opportunities for the students that need it the most,” says Noel. Meet Jason Crain: Manufacturing

Jason Crain leads daily operations and marketing strategy for the ingenious company he co-founded with Jewel Burks. Partpic simplifies the search and purchase of replacement parts using visual recognition technology, eliminating inefficiencies caused by unknown part numbers and streamlining the purchasing process from start to finish. Partpic was selected to present to President Obama at the White House’s Demo Day. Crain’s experience includes starting the product marketing team at Shazam, working with Fortune 100 CPG brands in direct sales for Google and as an board member. The organization champions diversity and inclusion in creative industries.

Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2016

In 2016, the Forbes 30 Under 30 selected 600 of the brightest young entrepreneurs, breakout talents, and change agents in 20 different areas. The categories: art & style, finance, consumer tech, sports, Hollywood & entertainment, retail & ecommerce, education, music, games, venture capital, media, manufacturing & industry, enterprise tech, food & drink, social entrepreneurs, law & policy, science, marketing & advertising, energy, and healthcare.
