This week, CampusLogic signed the FWD.us letter, along with hundreds of CEOs and business leaders nationwide, in support of a legislative solution that would enable 800,000 DACA recipients to continue to study, work, and live legally—and safely—in the U.S.
Let’s Work Toward a Permanent Solution for DACA Dreamers
CampusLogic is proud to be part of this open letter encouraging President Trump to preserve the Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. It also calls on Congress to pass the bipartisan Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, or similar legislation. These young immigrants, who were raised in our country, deserve a permanent solution.
We believe in the profound importance of higher education as a driver of socioeconomic mobility and prosperity. The fundamental purpose of higher education is to empower individuals, families, and our society at large to prosper—and to contribute to their communities. As a company that works with more than 450 institutions to improve access to higher education, CampusLogic is committed to supporting learners from all backgrounds as they pursue pathways to success.
The thousands of Dreamers studying at colleges and universities nationwide are clear examples of the power of higher education to transform the lives of young people and their families. But Dreamers are also one of the most vulnerable student populations. In Arizona alone, where CampusLogic is located, more than 30,000 college students will feel the impact of a DACA repeal—unless the Dream Act, or another legislative solution, is reached.
Continued CampusLogic Product Support for California’s AB540
In California, tens of thousands of students receive in-state tuition thanks to AB540, which establishes criteria to ensure that undocumented students are eligible for resident (in-state) tuition. The CampusLogic student financial services platform continues to support the unique needs of AB540 students by enabling students to complete digital financial aid forms, securely collect electronic signatures from student and parents, and upload those documents via mobile devices. These are the same features available to all federal aid applicants through CampusLogic.
With over 65,000 undocumented students graduating from high schools in the U.S. each year, we feel an obligation to continue to keep the best interest of students and society in mind. Without legislation that permanently legalizes the protections of DACA, these students’ educational experiences—and their futures—will be in jeopardy. CampusLogic encourages Congress to act swiftly by creating a simple and pragmatic alternative pathway to citizenship. We also fully support, and have great pride in, the industry associations and our partner institutions who have made similar requests of our national leaders—including NASFAA and the California Student Aid Association.
