Can you believe the fall semester is just a little over a month away? We know this year things might feel more overwhelming and confusing which is why we want to help as much as we can. Here are three tips to make sure you are ready to jump right back into the swing of things this fall:
Double check your schedule
You might attend a college that has moved a lot of instruction online. Some schools are offering “synchronous” online classes, which means you meet via video, at a set time. This is different from an “asynchronous” class, which is a more traditional online course where you set the times when you want to work. Make sure to review your college’s language around online learning so you know if you will have to attend class at a specific time and don’t miss a thing.
Review your technology
More than ever you will find yourself needing reliable wifi and a computer or tablet. Many colleges offer discounted computers through their bookstores, or you may even be able to borrow one from your campus library. Several wifi carriers have discounts for students, and some colleges have set up wifi access points for students on campus in places that allow for social distancing. Make sure to ask your college what support is in place for you.
Check your bill
Some colleges might remove you from your classes if you haven’t made arrangements to pay your tuition. Make sure to login to your student account to check your balance, financial aid, and to sign up for payment plans.
Update your RaiseMe portfolio
Now is also a great time to add your summer jobs, volunteer work, and grades to your RaiseMe portfolio so you can keep earning transfer scholarships. Are you volunteering with friends? Working with other students? Invite them to join RaiseMe by clicking the green heart at the top of your portfolio and you can earn scholarships if they decide to sign up!
