Every year, millions of families shopping for college wade through a confusing sea of website tuition pages, campus amenities and course catalogs as they attempt to make one of the largest (and longest-lasting) investments of their lives.       In this mastermind session, CampusLogic’s VP for Research, Carlo Salerno, PhD., candidly lays out the confusion families experience as they weigh varying price tags and financial aid packages from different institutions. But Dr. Salerno has a question—and a potential solution—that could reshape the industry:      What if the U.S. Department of Education required colleges to show their costs like car dealerships showcase their cars’ price tags?  What happens when students can see the individual components and ‘package’ options for schools before they invest?
